Story

The idea behind Leitner Watches was born from a simple realization. I was close to spending a considerable amount of money on a luxury watch, but the deeper I looked into the industry, the more I questioned what I was actually paying for. As an engineer, I was fascinated by the mechanics, not by the marketing.

I learned that many of the world’s most respected watch movements could be purchased separately and that, with enough dedication, it was possible to build something unique around them. What started as a personal project quickly became an obsession. Designing cases, experimenting with dials, improving details and solving technical problems turned out to be far more satisfying than owning the watch that originally caught my attention.

Born in 1987 in Starnberg, Germany, I have been fascinated by mechanics for as long as I can remember – from dismantling household devices as a child to working professionally with machine tools and precision engineering. Leitner timepieces emerged from this fascination during the pandemic.

Today, Leitner Watches remains a small and independent project driven by the same motivation: to create distinctive mechanical timepieces that prioritize engineering, serviceability and character over status and prestige.
